How to supply art . Supplying Art: There are 2 ways of supplying artwork, you can either send the art electronically via free ftp servers or you can post a disc with your master. Please do not email artwork.
Artwork Filetypes, Fonts and Images: All final art needs to be supplied with all fonts and images embeded into a pdf file. This means that you need to embed any document links when exporting to pdf from adobe illustrator and indesign Layers: Please keep the template layers and your artwork layers separate, so thats one layer for the dieline and specs and one layer for art no more. Fonts: Must be converted to outlines or rasterised with a recommended line thinkness of 0.6pt or above and placed within a recommedned clearzone of 3mm from any trim or fold line. Disc Art: Please remember when designing your discart designs that you are printing onto a silver surface not white so make sure you specify a white base on the purchase order if you want a white background Bleed, Registration & Trim Marks: You'll see these on the templates, don't delet them the printers need them. Bleed is a 3mm safetly zone for the guillotiene operator when the paper is being trimed so when designing your art make sure you leave this area with non essiential components such as image backgrounds or colour extensions. We can't print unless you have bleed and trims on your art. Filenames: Please name your files so they can be easily identified, for instance when designing a 4 panel booklet present them as printers pairs and name them accordingly ie. MYJOBNAME PAGES 4 AND 1, MYJOBNAME PAGES 2 AND 3, MYJOBNAME PAGES OUTER INLAY & MYJOBNAME PAGES INNER INLAY etc all other wise we will have to ask you a million boring questions such as is this the version1 file or the one marked NEW01.pdf or NEWEST1.pdf? Spot Colours:If you don't know what spot colours are , chances are you won't need em. If you do know what they are, you need to supply spot colours ready to print Instructions: we need a purchase order and any instructions you think is relevant to the job. We don't need a 10 page document jus a brief outline of what you want. any questions please get in contact with swerve.
Templates.Click on the links for html versions or the icon for PDF download (please note for 8, 12 and 16 the template is simply a multiple of the 4pp booklet). if supplying 20 or 24 panel art just have a look at 4, 8, 12 & 16 then do the maths! |
