Gizzard Blizzard
Built into a glowing transparent cabinet with violet lighting that swells in response to audio produced by two bass guitars that frame in a playfield featuring pop bumpers, slingshots and knockers all rigged up to interact with the strings and a set of tuning forks. These sonic elements are then augmented by four audio effect processors (sub harmonic fuzz – ring modulation – pitch shifting and envelope filter) all controlled by pinball targets wired to custom circuits designed specifically as pedal hacks for these games that either bypass the effect, switch modes or sweep through different pre-set resistances for each potentiometer. This stochastic compositional tool gives the machine literally millions of possible effect combinations while seamlessly integrating pinball gaming into compositional construction.
